Failure is what keeps us going!

Hi there!

If you’re reading this, chances are that you’re also wondering

“Why did Victor start a blog, and write a bunch of really long articles only to convert to video for his US trip and eventually stop writing all together?”

That’s a GREAT question. Luckily, I also have a short, simple and equally great answer!

In a nutshell, I wanted to challenge myself.

I wanted to do this through putting myself in a zone of discomfort (i.e. sharing my insights by writing motivational articles).

I also really like the idea of building an email list for the future, when I might want to publish an online course or something similar.

However, I noticed something when I started writing… I literally HATED writing!

I decided to push through it anyway, and ended up publishing a total of 8 x 3000+ word articles. They easily took me a combined 60+ hours to compose (so I sure hope that you guys and girls did read at least ONE of them.. Haha)!

But then – all of a sudden – I found THE LIGHT!

As I went on my US roadtrip together with my little brother Carl, I decided to video blog the entire event. Seeing as the only videos people really seemed to actually like, back in the day when I did live streaming and YouTube gaming videos, was videos where I was not showing gameplay, but instead talking to the camera (like this one, where I make meatballs for christmas)!

Said and done, I went all in and bought video equipment for $3000 and went on to film hundreds of GB’s and countless hours of raw footage.

As I started editing the US footage, I realized two things:

  1. When I spent 1 hour writing an article, it felt like 5 hours, but when I spend 5 hours editing video, it felt like 1 hour. In other words, I really liked it!
  2. It’s a lot more fun to film and edit within the same kind of time frame and time period.

Using this knowledge, I’ve now come to two conclusions:

  1. I’m going to continue with video and build an audience on YouTube instead of through email.
  2. I’m seriously thinking of starting a daily video blog.

So, with that said. Another failure (this blog) is in the bag, and I’m one step closer to succeeding!

On a side note, I also bought a new pearl white Porsche Cayman GTS (2014), here’s a video of what looks exactly like my car. And you’ll of course be seeing a lot more of that car, in case you want me to keep doing video bloggs.

Finally; Below is one of the last episodes of the US roadtrip vlog (#13). I’ll not share the rest here, as I’m retiring this blog for now, but you’ll find all of the episodes on my YouTube channel (or by searching for ‘Victor Lindqvist’ on YouTube)!

I just want to say a massive THANK YOU to each and every one of you ladies and gentlemen for supporting me in all of my crazy endeavours. It truly means a lot, especially when failing (again), and knowing you still support me!

Feel free to drop a comment, either here, on my YouTube channel, or through whatever media you prefer – I’ll always cherish your feedback!

Lots of love – Victor
